Default Exporting Low ASCII control Characters: (MARC Records) - 11-14-2006 , 08:00 PM

Hi folks, working with 7 or 8, I need to export files that contain ascii 29, and
30. I'm trying to create MARC records from a book Database and MARC uses those
characters fro end of field / end of record.

I thought that back in version 4 there was actually an ascii command, but I don't
see it in 8.

Anyone have any thoughts?

Kent

If it makes you feel any better, there's never been an ASCII command in
FileMaker itself (or at least not the Mac version). )

Since you can't type those characters, FileMaker can't really export
them. You'll probably need some sort of plug-in, although I don't know
of one.

Maybe you could place those characters in a (global) text field (using alt +
ascii code) and append them using a calculation, or try to import them from a
text file.

Last resort is allways the good old word-processor to do a search and replace.
