Hi all I have searched here and Google and come up with no answers yet so I thought I would add a post I am setting up a database that users will be able to enter findings from research interviews they carry out(who, where, when, and what was found out). then once they have entered all the interviews they can export these findings to a word report at the moment I am exporting the database records to a txt file and running a mail merge in word. however the text appears unformatted. is there any way to retain the formatting thanks in advance C walker |

Hi, What database program do you use ? I use FileMaker and I did a pretty thorough research on the subject and found (thanks to Erik) a solution with the use of some plugins - pretty convoluted though, that needs manual intervention each time it is done, but ... it works -. By the way ANY database program I know of does the export in 'raw' text and never keeps formatting. It is a matter of designing an appropriate layout for the report. -- For email, change <fake> to <earthlink Bill Collins |
