Thank you in advance for any response..... I have used FileMaker since 1988, in those days on a MAC. I am now on a PC, and have a folder with many FileMaker 4 and FileMaker 5 files. All of these open fine, indicating that the program software is operating O.K. On Sunday, in the middle of using my personal PIM (which I developed in FileMaker 4) it all of a sudden collapesed, and I got the Error Code -39 message. Every time I go to try to open it, I get the same message. Properities on the PC says that it is a 384 MB file, which is about right. I contains about 32,700 records, with upto 400 fields each. It is a flat file. I tried to recover, but only got 400 records, all blank, i.e., no fields or data. Apple fritter says that the issue is a 'end of file' marker, but does not give any method of recovery. Is there any method of recovery, other than to go to the last back up, which in my case is about one month old? NOTE - I have stayed with older FileMaker, as it searchs easier and better, in the application in which I am using it. Again, thank you in advance for your response...... R. D.
