Default Enable FileMaker Splash screen? - 05-06-2010 , 02:47 AM

Is there a way to re-enable filemaker 11 splashscreen, after I disabled
it on Mac OS X, without deleting the prference file?

backup your preference file
delete everything and re-install
put the prefs back

But then again, filemaker doesn't have that much prefs so you also could go
ahaead with just a clean install.

Why would you want the splash screen back again? Any information on it (and
more) is probably more easily accessible from the About option in the
FileMaker menu.

I just hope he really meant splash screen and not quick menu. For windows
splash screen is hardcoded quick menu is an option. But I just thought: lets
only answer his question.

The original message did say Mac OS X. The only "reason" I can think of for
wanting the splash screen or the About window is to try and steal a
registration code, but I don't know if FileMaker even displays it there
(Adobe software only displays part of the code).

Well for OSX he had to tamper with a .plist and a resource to get rid of the
splash screen. So my hope remains he meant the quick menu, otherwise a
re-install is the way to go.

My v10 doesn't display the reg anywhere I could locate.

This is a program preference
found under: edit > preferences > first TAB (General) > second tick-box

In General preferences I have only this:

User Interface Options
- Allow drag and dro text selection
- Show recently opened files: 10
- Use Manage Database dialog to create files
Reset dialog size and positions:
User Name
- System:
- Other
Application
- Notify me when an update is available
- Notify me when a new version is available

Seems the command lacks on Mac OS...
