Default email script crashes FMP7 / openssl.exe - 09-10-2010 , 11:01 AM

hello,

I am using the email script in Filemaker Pro 7,
with the script some fields out of the database are transferred into
the mail programm.
This works fine, but since this week, after installing Office 2010 and
security patches FMP closes after ececuting the script.
The mail programm (lotus notes 8) opens and some of the fields are
copied into.
Deleting the filemaker programm and new installation does not solve
this problem.

When re-installing FMP I get the error message that there is a fault
in openssl.exe. Deleting/renaming this file also has not solve the
problem.
Is maybe the openssl.exe the problem?
Any ideas to solve this problem?
Trying to search the group for this problem was not successfull.

thanks

My best guess is that Office 2010 and/or the security patches
installed a newer version of openssl.exe than your version of
FM is expecting, and that there are sufficient changes between
the two that FM is now unable to use it.

You could try rolling back your Windows installation to the state it
was in before downloading the security patches if you have a suitable
backup (does Windows have a version of Mac's Time Machine?)
Alternatively, you could take this opportunity to upgrade your
version of FM (even FMP8.5, which I'm using, is old in software years!)
