Default display pdf in a fmp6 - 05-24-2007 , 06:55 PM

This is related to the other thread about tracking. Forget that one for
now, it really doesn't matter.

What I am trying to do was to have pdf files on my harddrive and be able
to display them online with a cdml file. How do I reference the file?

As far as I know, I can't display pdfs in container fields, or at least
I can't find anything on it for fmp6.

What directory should I put them on. I don't want to put the .pdfs
online directly because folks an search for the subject matter and it
would come up for them.

Should I put the file in a container field in PeaceGames.fp5? Or how
would I link the file from my harddrive in the cdml?

Essentially I wanted the link to work as if the file was on the website,
not on my harddrive.

So I remembered that in fmp6, there is a folder called 'Web', in the same hierarchy that has Web Database, Web Security, and cdml_format. I put the files there, and it was referenced in the cdml_format folder with a cdml file.

And it works. I tried google before coming here, as I usually do. I don't know why searching in google for "display pdf in cdml" didn't show me anything about using the Web folder. And I guess folks here don't remember or use fmp 6 enough to have commented on it.
