default number format

Hello,
all my number fields start out showing $00.00 in currency format. I keep
having to change them and am looking for a way to change the default - how?

Click anywhere in the body of the layout.

Select Format/Number (or right-click) to set the default number format
for the layout.

Click anywhere in the body of the layout.

You can click anywhere that's empty (ie. not a field or other layout
object) and then set the Number format, which is then the default for
the entire database and FileMaker, not just that one layout.
