Default Data from html files to database - wtih af script. - 06-09-2005 , 06:27 AM

I have a number of html files, hvor data is placed in tabels (html
tabels <table>). What I would like to do is place all the html files in
a folder, make a database in filemaker, run a script that finds the
data and places it in the database. (then export sometthing i can place
in a mysql database)

The html code is for exsample

F.eks. <td>Art. No.</td><td>6868686</td>

So it would be find <td>Art. No.</td><td>6868686</td>
Take 6868686 and place it in database

Any scripts examples I can see, which i can use to build that sort of
script.

(i have never made a filemaker script before)

I have been messing a bit about with exel, and I dont really se how
this is possible. When I have first imported some data, it should so to
speak ad the new data to the exsisting data. So i get art.nr. 1, 2, 3,
etc.
not art nr. 1, art nr. 2 art.nr 3 as one table for each product.

Thanks for the reply, I am still working on a solution.

I have about 400 html files, and there is a lot of tables in them which
I will not be needing. So I need some sort of filter software. Perbhabs
some sort of data conversion software - like besides.com import wizard.
However I dont have 150 dollars to spend for the software.

Neither Navicat or Import Wizard pro, can in my opinion, do the job,
they cant so to speak turn the html tabels, they import what is rows as
colums.

Default FMP file vs. system date format - 07-01-2005 , 10:31 AM

Hello all,

I have a small problem with a FMP 7 DB and I was hoping you would be able
to help.

When I open the file, I get a warning which says "The date and time formats
associated with XXX are different than the current system settings, which
would you like to use?" and I am prompted to choose between system time and
file time.

The database does not have any date/time fields, nor are there any
calculations which would use this ... I know this is possibly a very simple
fix but I can't ship the product to our client with this warning, any
suggestions?

Thanks,

c.

You can set this by going to menu and click on File and then File
Options, then click on the Text tab. You'll find a section at the
bottom for Data Entry with three options:

1. Always Use Current System Settings
2. Always Use File's Saved Settings
3. Ask Whenever Settings Are Different

It's defaulting to the third one. Sounds like you probably want to use
number one or two.
