Default Daft question - one list view to another - 06-29-2007 , 03:07 PM

This is something I've forgotten how to do and would appreciate a
memory jog.

I have two databases (linked) - the list view in one has a button at
the end of each row. Clicking the button should bring up a list view
from the other database with only the related records. But I can't get
it to work - it says the layout cannot display the contents.

I'm using v7

any ideas?

Simon

Stupid questions don't exist.

When you go to related record (gtrr) you should always provide a layout that
belongs to the related table. Only very seldom is this the same as the
original table. So you also should specify in the goto related script step
which layout should be shown. And this layout should belong to the related
(being an other table then the original)

Keep well, Ursus

What is the script or script step you have assigned to the button?

Matt

Thanks for those responses - I've fixed it.

I have created a relationship from one table to the other but not back
again - once I defined the relationship in both databases it worked
fine.
