Many thanks for your suggestion and this calculation works, only when I
place the field in my header on my layout it shows the field but no text
...I know the answer will be a simple one but how do i get it to print
the text result ..if I move the field out of the header it prints as
normal ...
The text also shows on screen but ,as I say wont print out in the header
...any help greatly appreciated

Assuming this is a list layout and your field is not set for global
storage, it shows the value of a specific record. In the header, it's
the value of the first record.
