I have Filemaker 8.5 pro. I have printed form that I load into my printer and I would like to be able to use the image in FM to properly place the fields so when they print everything will line up. If possible I would like to have the printed form as the background and fill in the necessary fields. Then when I print the information I don't want the background to print. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks, Carl |

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks, Well, I have answered this twice in close to identical language, and it has not shown up for me yet. Perhaps a problem with the Verizon news server? I'll apologize for duplications. |

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks, Put a PDF or other scanned image of the form in a (maybe Global?) container field (Insert Picture). Place that field on a layout (use the Crop setting in Format/Graphic, so you can get close to original size). Under Format/Set Sliding/Printing, set the field to "Do not print selected objects." Size the layout tight vertically to the field. Place your data fields in front of the image. Fiddle with positions, sizing and alignment as necessary. Print. |

If possible I would Of course you don't need to use a Container field. You can just insert the image directly onto the layout. The only problem may be that a print-resolution image may balloon the file size of you database (a Container field can link to the original image and so not store it in the database file itself). |
