Default crash - 01-22-2010 , 07:25 AM

WinXP FMP10a

I was working at a large file, 32.000+ records, 150Mb.
I was rearranging some layout objects when the window seemed to stutter.
After a few seconds of frenzied harddisk action both the file and filemaker
itself crashed.
Filemaker could not be restarted and still appeared within the list of
active programs

Ofcourse it did a consistency check after restarting.
The log has 3630 similar lines: Page X is markes as free, but doesn't appear
on the list of free pages.

So what does that mean? And how serious are the consequenses?

Sorry about that, and I don't have any specific information. I would
just do as always with damaged files: replace with recent backup, import
recovered data if necessary. You know all that. Of course if I don't
have a recent backup or would loose too much structure work, I try to
use the recovered file anyway (which I also pass through cloning and
compacting).

I would ask at Filemaker's Forum, it seems to be more active that the
newsgroup lately.

Good luck
Marc
