Hi all

dont know if this is possible

i want to create an oline pdf library using IWP the pdfs restricted by
passwords to certain records for the users. i want the users to be able to
download the pdf from a container field if possible.

i am using filemaker 8

is there any way to do this or will i have to refence a field wil the url to
the file for the download link

is this possible if i used CWP

Don't be afraid to try things. You can enable IWP Sharing on your copy of
FileMaker and go to http://localhost to see how it works.

And in this case, yes... You can put a PDF file into a container field. When
a user browses to that field in IWP it will show up with am icon and blue
underline. Clicking the icon will cause the PDF file to be downloaded to the
user's computer.

i am still learning my with FM Eight. i did try inserting object and turned
on iwp, but it just showed the picture of the file. this time i inserted
file (from the menu) instead. and just as you said it showed a link to the
file.
