Default CHANGE view MODE but stay on same RECORD? - 03-29-2007 , 09:50 AM

New to filemaker, simple problem. I want to be able to switch view
modes (Browse, Preview, layout), but stay on the same record. (Right
now, it keeps switching records every time I change view mode.

Anyone knows how to fix?

Help much appreciated--Thanks!

Going to Preview will always take you to the first record in your found set. Thus, isolating the desired record as alone or first in the found set is the only way to guarantee staying on that record.

In Layout mode, you're not in a record; it may appear that you are if you have selected Show Sample Data under View (the information from the current record will be displayed as the sample data).
