Default Bug FM 8.0 ??? - 09-27-2005 , 05:51 PM

Using FM 7.0v3 - Win XP

Search on a table + showing related data in a portal.
(Advanced work around that I made of one default FM example)
After the search I can scroll immediately through the found set by using
a mouse with a scrolling wheel.

Using FM 8.0v1 - Win XP

Same table as above, records are "froozen" when trying to scroll through
the found set by using the scrolling wheel of the mouse.
First I have to click at a place within the Window to "activate" the
Window. Only afterwards I can scroll using the scrolling wheel.

Fautlty working does not show up using other tables, without related
data in a portal.

Tried to use a script to set the cursor at a certain field. No result.
Still I have to click the pointer within the Window to "activate".

I just performed a manual find and I could immediately scroll through
found records with the mouse wheel with no problem. Are you doing this
by script? Are there any steps in the script after the Perform Find step?

No, I just do a *manual* find.
But as I wrote before, the error only show up using a table with portals
as the base template is made from a Filmaker example itself. I just
looked to another "self"-made table with portals, but no problems there.

So I just tried the original example as it is enclosed with Filemaker,
and yes got the same error, or at least related to what I found.

From Filemaker 8 (or 7 --> it is a general example).
Look into the Templates folder
--> Home-General --> open the table: "Contact Management"

Just make some records with same name and company (duplicating).
A find doesn't bring the error in this case, but clicking the third Tab
"Related Contact" and just click to the round buttons of "Name",
"Company" and "City", scrolling through the records is freezed up too!!
(Just click at a place in the window to "reset" freeze).
This doesn't apear using FM 7.0v3 only using FM 8.0v1

The example is a mix of some difficult script base solutions, so I can
imagine, handling is done different now. But it makes no sense why it
should freeze up the window and scrolling.
