Default The best database design solution for filemaker - 08-02-2003 , 03:17 PM

I am currently using FMP 6 - FMP Server - FMP developer - FMP
Unlimited. I am hosting filemaker databases on the internet and
writing my own CDML using Homepage to start and then adding cosmetic
changes with Adobe Golive. I need a filemaker solution (i.e. Lasso) to
help me with expanded web interface design work I have. Is Lasso the
best for doing this? Also, I would like to have a solution that helps
create web interface pages that have request and query strings that
you cannot figure out whats going on to reduce the chance of user
manipulation.

Thanks

I have yet to find the database I cannot port to the web just using
CDML - and the situation here is currently about 1 mill request/month.

Good luck. Make the fields obscure calcs, then use POST forms
only (as they hide the strings rather than putting them in
the URL bar).

Myself, very few people have the right password to change anything
over the web, so they can play with URl strings as much as they
like, they can't stuff anything up.

Mail me for examples of what we've been doing...

Cheers

Hello
For all that you could use the class Fx.php.
It works with Php and it helps to mask all the request in any url.
you have to secure your db using a password of course.
more info at:
www.iviking.org

Php is a good programmng language, the one you can use to help you
modify your web pages.
I'ts free compared to Lasso but it takes time to master it.

bye
