I guess the only recommendation I could make is select a standard
TrueType font with as few license encumbrances as possible.

After that its just like any other font as far as FM is concerned. Pick
one you like, install it into the system, set a layout object to use it,
done.

Maybe I missed something, but his Code 128 stuff says FM7 only.

Unless there's a compelling reason not to, just get a font. You can use
it not only in FM6 but also Excel, in Word, in the next version of
Filemaker...and the one after that.

Yep. All the "barcode solutions" advertised on the Internet are WAY WAY
over the top for most people, not to mention over-expensive.

All you need is a decent scanner (it wil convert read barcodes to
numbers usable by ANY application). If you need to print barcodes a
simple font (used like a Wingdings or Dingbat font) does the job just
as well as a $1,000 "solution". There are free and cheap shareware
fonts around, although I can't remember where I got the one I used
off-hand - I'll have to hunt out the original Zip archive on the other
computer and see if it has any info in it.
