I have a situation where I have a list of names and I want a field to choose from those name and print in grey the best fit ie. For state I would type A and Alabama would be inserted in grey. If I continued to type Alas then Alaska would be inserted. When I press return/tab the grey name would be my value. Is this an easy task? if so, can you point me in the right direction. |

This behavior is called type-ahead or text automation This can not be done natively in filemaker, but there are a number of plug-ins that may assist you. http://www.fmplugin.com/type_ahead.php http://www.nightwing.com.au/FileMaker/Clairvoyance/ Or simulate something like it. But this involves a script that keeps looping and is not very nice to work with. |
