Default another minor nightmare - 07-28-2005 , 05:44 AM

Well I think Ive discovered another problem to make my life a misery.

The background.
I have created a significantly size database in FM7. I also created a layout
that could be used in many layouts, each new layout had the standard layout
with extra information. I create a new blank layout and copy the standard
details to it using a normal copy and paste.

The problem.
When I copy the layout sector it all works well, except one field which
everytime appears as field not defined. I reapply the field and copy and
paste again either from the original or the new layout. The field is missing
again.

I create a new field, delete the old one and rename the new field with the
troublesome field name and insert it into the layout. It works well but when
I copy and paste to a new layout the same field appears as undefined.

It is only one field of 70 in the layout and when it is redeifined it works
pefectly.

Does anyone have any ideas.

Thanks

Is it a merge field or a 'regular' field?

Is the field related to the table occurrence of the new layout?

Yes. It is Description field and appears on every layout and it not used in
any relationship (yet)

Hmmm.

So all these layouts are based on the same table occurrence?
