The next meeting of FileMaker Developers in Southern California (FMDiSC)
will be this Friday, September 30th from 9:30AM to 1:00PM.

As always, there are no costs or restrictions for attending. All are
invited; level of discussion is intended for intermediate and advanced
developers.

Here's this month's lineup:

- Breakfast will be sponsored by developer Mike Kohan.

- DevCon session reviews (about 8-10 minutes per session):
Bob Gossom Transactions for Data Integrity
Debbie Cohen-Sitt Management by Baseball
Sean Root & Michael Frankel 2 PHP sessions
Howard Schlossberg & Phil Goodman Naming conventions
Joe Patterson Selling FM to IT
Dave Knight His own 2 sessions
Jonathan Reff Andy Lecates & Chris Moyer sessions

- After the break, Bob Gossom will declaim his FM beatnik
poetry/Recursive Function, composed on the spot during the impromptu jam
session at DevCon.

- Some of the new functions in FileMaker 8:
Anton Anderson Script Variables
Jonathan Reff Variable file paths, value list demo
Jeremiah Small Get Nth Record
Lynn Allen Tool Tips

- If time permits, Scott Rose will quickly cover a few of the other new
features of FileMaker 8. For example: custom menus, new data viewer,
new relationship graph functions, new tabbed layout tool.

Here's the tentative schedule of events:

Introductions, announcements

10:15am - 11:50am:
DevCon review (8-10 minutes per session)

11:50am - 12:05pm
Break, ending with Bob Gossom

MEETING LOCATION: Bresee Youth Foundation, 184 S. Bimini Place, Los
Angeles. We meet in the the multipurpose room. Directions & Parking:
<http://www.bresee.org/pages/map.html>. Street parking, or you may park
in the Vons parking lot. The manager of Vons allows for Bresee parking.
