Greetings, FMDiSC members!

The next meeting of FileMaker Developers in Southern California (FMDiSC)
will be this Friday November 18th from 9:30AM to 1:00PM. As always, one
and all are invited to attend the meeting; there are no fees or
requirements for attending. The discussion level is aimed toward
intermediate and advanced FileMaker developers, but anyone is welcome.

We have a very special meeting lined up this week! Lynn Allen and
Jonathan Reff have very generously sponsored developer Kevin Frank (of
Kevin Frank & Associates) to travel from Northern California to be our
special guest speaker at this month's FMDiSC meeting. Kevin will be
presenting the very exciting and much talked-about "Anchor/Buoy" method
of organizing your table occurrences & relationship graph. This method
not only represents a strikingly new approach to handling your
relationship graph, but may make you re-think how you design your
databases as well. You do not want to miss this presentation -- we will
be spending most of the meeting discussing this! Please review study

Then, as an extra special Thanksgiving bonus, David Knight will be
presenting an UPDATED VERSION of one of our all-time favorite tricks of
David's: an invoice duplication routine that duplicates a found set of
invoices with all of their associated line items. Now you may THINK you
know a great way to do this, but wait until you see David's new method.
Using new features only available in FileMaker 8, this new invoice
duplication routine blows away all other parent/child duplication
methods that we've ever seen. This new technique duplicates a found set
of 1,000 invoices and their related line items in under 10 seconds. Be
prepared to be blown away.

MEETING LOCATION:
Bresee Youth Foundation, 184 S. Bimini Place, Los Angeles. We meet in
the the multipurpose room. Street parking, or you may park in the Vons
parking lot. The manager of Vons allows for Bresee parking.
