Default advice on creating portal rows - 07-06-2005 , 09:45 AM

hi all again,

i appreciate all the help in this forum. i need some advice on
adding/subtracting portal rows. I have a portal setup and would like to
enter a number into a field and that number corresponds to the number
of records created. So for example, if i enter 5 into the field, then
in the portal i would like 5 records to be created automatically with
thier ID already generated for each row. Now if i change that 5 to 8
then i want 3 more records to be created. Or if i change the 8 to 2 i
would like it to ask which 6 records to remove.

It seems pretty complicated but I wanted to know if there already is a
function for the above or a plugin, or would i have to script it. If
so, please provide with a general script. Thanks again for your help.

Seems EventScript or zippScript, both of which I believe have been
recommended to you before, would serve the purpose, triggering a script on
change to a field in the portal.

You'll have to write your own script (activated by a button or an 'exit
field' plug-in). There's no in-built function or plug-in that will do
all that, it's too specific.
