Default Add tables to a solution - 06-16-2005 , 06:33 AM

Is in Filemaker 7 solution possible to add tables and use them without
modify manually script/relations/definitions. I need the ability to
create new tables with a script or the ability to add in the solution
folder an empty file and use the new tables with limited access or even
with runtime solution. The new tables should be usable modifying a field
value (with a value list that shows me witch table/files are available),
or with a script that let me select new files.
My solution need to be freely expandable adding new tables (all of them
have the same structure) from a empty template or creating it (better
with adding new files for each), and after work with each of them (one
at time) without giving to users the ability to do any other changes to
the solution.

P.S. Solution should work on both, mac & windows.

Adriano,

I think you have to rethink your strategy. Repeatedly adding (duplicated)
fields or tables to a solution is probably not the way to go. Structuring
your solution with accounts and privileges, then probably using
data-separation, should be able to acomplish exactly what you need.

The strategy you come up is very difficult to set up, difficult to maintain,
prone to dissasters, and costly, since you need plug-ins.
