Default 852 Update Fails - 05-01-2007 , 09:15 AM

When I run the update for 8.5v2, the installer expands all the files,
attempts the install and stops with the message that there is no
registered version of FileMaker on my system. I have FM on my system,
with a reg number, it runs fine and accepted the 8.0v3 update with
error. My original purchase was ver 7. How do I get it to know I have
FM on my system?

8.5v2 will only update 8.5v1

8.0 to 8.5 is not a complimentary upgrade.

You'd need to buy the upgrade from 8.0 to 8.5, or if you don't need
8.5 stick with 8. (or consider holding out for 9...or whatever you
like.... but that's why the updater won't run

-cheers,
Dave
