Have Pervasive gone out of the business of actually producing their
own software, now that they are supporting PostgreSQL?

It seems that it's easier to support other people's work rather than
do it oneself - and Pervasive was never a big player anyway. Where
did/does it rank in terms of installations? I would have given it a
visibility rating of approx. that of Interbase, Borland's (not so well
supported) db offering.

XP Pro, SP 2,

if Oracle group then
db := Oracle 9.2.0.1.0 (Enterprise Ed.)
else
db := Interbase 6.0.2.0;
endif

As a courtesy to those who spend
time analyzing and attempting to
help, please do not top post.

Nope.
They just released the next version of their database product.
Here is the news release from March 15th.

It is really tough to tell how many seats are deployed as most of them
are "embedded". Most people that run it don't even know it is there.
