Default Uninstalling Pervasive 8.6 Client on Windows XP Home Edition - 02-01-2005 , 01:39 PM

Hi, Group,

I have trouble uninstalling the client from a laptop with Win XP Home
Edition.

The client itself is working fine, but I need to replace it with
Pervasive Workgroup.

The problem is that I couldn't find the Pervasive SQL 8 entry in the
Add/Remove Programs in the control panel. (It does appear on Win 98 SE,
Win 2000 workstations).

I reinstalled it but it still didn't not show on the Add/Remove
Programs panel.

I then reinstalled it from Add/Remove Programs panel, hoping it would
add the program to the list. But still no luck.
Can enyone help?

TIA!

BL

I have not heard of that issue before.
There are two simple solutions:
1) Just install the Workgroup on top of the requester. 95% of the
files are the same, only a handful of files are added for the actual
engine.
2) Run the Pervasive System Analyzer and have it clean off the machine
(happens as part of the above mentioned install automatically anyway).
After that it should install just fine.
