Default Status 11 - 02-08-2006 , 08:47 AM

Hello,

one of our customers has a strange problem with Pervasive on his new
notebook:

The notebook must work with data stored on a Novell server (with P.SQL
2000) and is sometimes disconnected from the network and then works
with data on the local harddisk. For network access a P.SQL 2000 client
is installed and for local access a P.SQL 7 workstation engine is
installed. The administrator tells me that on the previous notebook
(Win95) this constellation worked well but now with a new XP machine
the user can only work in the network but gets status 11 on the first
local access.

When the P.SQL 2000 Client is de-installed the local access works fine.

Does anyone has a hint for me?

Karl

Kind of glossed over in all the information provided about the laptop
is which networking client is install.
I have heard about status 11 issues with the Novell Client 32 4.91.
Pervasive has a fix for it with the latest Pervasive client as does
the latest client patch from NetWare.

Pervasive.SQL 200i also has support for embedded spaces in filenames.
If this setting is enabled in the PSQL2000i client, but yet the
application doesn't provide NULL termination for the local files, then
this could also cause a Status 11. Try disabling this option in the
client setup (PCC).

Also, having a mixture of PSQL7 and PSQL2000i is a BAD idea. Would
recommend instead upgrading the local engine to PSQL2000i to match the
client. This might also eliminate any conflicts here...
