Default St=1010 Btrieve 6.15, WindowsXP - 07-11-2003 , 02:43 PM

Any idea why a newly setup workstation running a 16bit app would get
st=1010. Only happening on WinXP. Admin does not get error. User does
have full access rights to all data.

Hi, Sue!

See if this helps...
BB

ERR - Btrieve Error 1010 Reported from Windows 95 Workstation
Application: Btrieve
Version: 6.15
Platform: Windows 95
Engine: Windows

Issue:
Attempting to run our client based Btrieve (v6.15) application from a
NetWare 3.1 shared drive on a Windows 95 client. When we execute the record
manager (within or independant of our application) it returns a status
1010 (An error occurred during the access of the transaction control
file). Our application does NOT use transaction processing, and the
trnfile= setting in BTI.INI does NOT include a file name (it is blank). It
appears that the user has correct access rights to the Btrieve system
(READ, WRITE, CREATE, ERASE), and that our Btrieve data files don't have
any NetWare flags except read/write (although we never even get to a point
where it's attempting to open our data files - the status 1010 occurs as
soon as you start the record manager before any attempt to open a data
file).

Resolution:
Set the TRNFILE=C:\, which is a required parameter for the standalone
engine.
