Default Slow data access after upgrading from PSQL 2000i to V8.1 - 10-29-2004 , 02:48 AM

Last week we moved to PSQL V8.1 from 2000i. Since we have had incredibly
slow data access problems. This keeps flactuating from normal to
abnormally slow in spans of 5 minutes.

We have since switched of the client/local cache engines but no success.
We have increased the threads but still no change.

Anyone who can help?

Is there any reason you moved to PSQLV8.1 just last week? Pervasive.SQL V8.6
has been around for a few months now, and it contains numerous bug fixes over
V8.1. I would strongly recommend going with that release instead.

As for performance problems, have you checked your network throughput during
these periods? Try running the Pervasive System Analyzer and do a network
stress test of at least 500 packets (see the Advanced dialog box) during a
slow time. Make sure that the numbers count quickly and evenly -- no pauses
at all.
