Files can only be locked when they are open.
The easiest solution would be to get all the users out of the
application (suggested before doing any data moving anyway).
Since you are in the Pervasive monitor you can disconect any remaining
sessions from the server side after everyone is out.

As to export / import the data is not really necessary.
Pervasive.SQL is data file binary compatible across all platforms.
All you have to do is copy the files (while they are not in use) and
reconfigure the application to point to the new location.

Hi,

I have recently aquired a Microsoft small business server with pervasive
SQL and all on the databases in the control center are showing locked.

I can not contact the company that setup the system as they are out
of business.

How can i reset the pervasive SQL to allow me access to the locked
databases or what tool or service do i need to acquire.

I am wanting to also export one of the databases also to a new Novell
small business server running pervasive and it is also showing locked
when i try to export the pervasive database from the microsoft small
business to the novell small business server.

Thanks to all for the help when you have time.

I think their might be some confusion when i am using the term lock on
all of the databases.

I mean when i select a database in the controll center and say try to
look at the tables i get a screen with a padlock requesting the user
name and password to go any further.

Hope this clears up the confusion.

Please respond if i need to take a different route then what you had
stated in the other e-mail.

Thanks for the help.

What you need is the database's Master password. Then, provide the user
"Master" with that password. Both user name and pass are case sensitive.
With this password, you can right-click the database in the PCC and select
Properties, then the Security tab. From here, you can enter the password to
disable security.
