search for files with the extension .ddf. (file.ddf, field.ddf, etc)

If you find them, download a trial version of pervasive.SQL from
www.pervasive.com and extract the data (many options, but probybly via ODBC
is the easyest)

If you don't have DDFs then you are out of luck. The DDFs contain the
structure information of btrieve files and without them you have unformatted
data (just a bunch of records with unknown record structure).

There are some tools that try to create DDFs by "guessing" the record layout
by analyzing the data, but I would not try it (much work and no guarantee
for success)

good luck

Hello all,

This is a very broad question but i really don't know where to begin.
Basically there is some software that contains data that i need to
transfer to another database. All i know about this software is that
the data is stored using Pervasive and it must be embedded into the
application because the client doesn't have a pervasive server running.
How can i go about getting the data from this software into the new
database? Are there files with certain extensions that i should be
searching for? Any ideas? I know it's a broad question but i have to
start somewhere. Thanks.
