Default PervasiveSQL 9.1 unable to create a database - 05-15-2006 , 11:19 AM

Just completed an install of PSQL 9.1. I can run pcc (control centre)
with no issues, however, I am unable to see the sample or DEMODATA
databases, nor am I able to create a new database. The error is 7004:
General failure code. I have searched through the Pervasive website kb
and haven't found any solutions there.

The server is Linux RedHat ES 4. I have checked that the psql user and
the psvw group have all the appropriate rights to the various folders,
files, etc.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Liz

Liz:

If you do not see DEMODATA or DefaultDB, then your install did not
complete correctly. I would recommend reinstalling (be sure you
install as root) such that you can see this first.

Some obvious questions:
- Are you rtunning the PCC from the Linux box or from a workstation?
- If workstation, have you entered the server name into the name space
(left side) correctly?
- Are you logging in properly? (Right click on server name, select
Login, and enter a user name & password that has been given proper
rights throutgh the btadmin tool.)

Bill

You are so right...there is an after install program called postinstall
found in one of the folders on the server, and when I ran that, voila
there is the DEMODATA and DefaultDB. And I am able to create a new
database!!! Yahoo, I just might meet a June 1st deadline )

Thanks for the tips!
