Hi, I have a Pervasive SQL 2000 Workgroup application. If I install a Pervasive SQL 8 client-server application will there be problems running both apps on the same client PC? Both apps would be looking at central unique databases. Regards, SW |

Hmm Is the server app running embedded. For example if all the PSQL 8 programs are with the server software on the server and not installed as at true client, then this might work. But if its a client install, then its likely that the 2000 workgroup will be archived. I think maybe the best thing to do is purchase a workgroup PSQL 8 engine to install on the workstation, this will give you the 8 client automatically. Then in PCC set the local engine to access its data in version 7.x format. That way it shouldn't change the data for other workgroup users. However, you may want to check with the application provider to see that it won't make other problems. Also, I don't know what would happen if your workgroup data is accessed by a 2000 client and 8 client at the same time?
