Default Pervasive Linux Install Problems - 11-22-2005 , 06:22 AM

Hi,

Pervasive V8.6 SP2.

-------------------
After installing the rpm and licence on the SLES 9 Linux box, I have
run the Pervasive System Analyser on my Win 2000 workstation.

The Network & Transactional test pass.

This is the error report on the relational test:

------------
Failed to connect to the database. The server name or the server DSN
specified may not exist.

Make sure that the Pervasive.SQL Server Engine on the machine
specified is started and the usercount is valid.

[Pervasive][ODBC Client Interface][LNA][Pervasive][ODBC Engine
Interface][Data Record Manager]The MicroKernel cannot find the
specified file(Btrieve Error 12)
---------------

Any Ideas?

Regards

The install may not have created the database properly. Check to see
if the DEMODATA database exists in the psql directory.

Right-click on the DemoData database name (from the main PCC window,
not from "Maintain...") and select Properties. Verify that this Engine
DSN points to the DemoData Database Name. If you don't see this DSN,
then it may not have been created correctly during the install.

If it does, connect from the client to the server (in the PCC),
right-click on the "Configuration" icon, and select "Maintain Named
Database." Check to see if the DEMODATA database name has been
created, and re-verify the directory shown here.

If the DSN and DBName are NOT there, use the PCC now to create them,
and this test should succeed.
