A staus 94 is usually just a permission issue.
There are generally two regular causes and one common "irregular"
cause.
The regular causes are that the user does not have rights or that the
database engine does not have rights to the files. If anybody can
access the file through the database engine then those rights are ok
and if the user can access the file sometimes their actuall OS rights
are probably ok.
The most common irregular cause often indicated by intermittent status
94 issues, is real time AV software. Something in the data may look
like a virus signature so the AV software blocks file access. The
status 94 is fairly common in this case although not as common as a
lock status code 84 or 85 but can include the more rare status 46 or
3.
I would say you could turn off the AV software for testing to see if
the problem goes away. Unfortunately these days most AV software is
what I would consider defective in that you "disabling" it does not
actually change behavior requiring more drastic measures such as
stopping the services or even removing it completely because it can
not be stopped. If it does change behavior then simply configure the
AV software to NOT scan the data files (as well as the transactional
log directory \pvsw\bin\mkde\log). You may even get a performance
bump out of it too.
