Default The old problem:code 802 - 10-20-2006 , 02:11 PM

Hi
I've an old problem creating a DSN for my Btrieve files with Pervaisive
32bit ODBC Driver:
Login must secceed before data source entry can be written (Status code
802)

I've Btrieve v5.10a , Windows XP and all on a single PC.
I changed many things in registry as
target engine, local ,requester.
I even changed BTI.INI.
Now completely confused,I see some one say W32BTICM.DLL
should be in your PATH and I don't have such a thing at all.
I'm working with an application wich uses Btrieve as its Database.

If any one can give me this file it'll be a heavenly gift for me!

Any thing else will be appreciated too.

Btrieve 5.10a cannot be accessed from 32-bit ODBC. The MINIMUM Btrieve
version required would be Btrieve 6.15, and it would need to either be
the Win32 workstation engine or a server engine with a Win32 client.

Upgrade the database engine to a newer release first.

Hi and thank you for your answers.
After I read your messages I asked my friends.
They are sure they've done this once upon a time.
They've connected from an ODBC driver to a Btrieve database and exactly
this version.
But they have forgotten how the hell?

In fact we have an old product and we should deal with it.No way to
update it.

I tested what "John Schexnaydre" told and still have the problem.

Thank you

Do you have a DOS engine or a Windows engine? The DOS engine will NOT
connect from ODBC, so you're out of luck here. The Win16 engine MAY
work, but you'd need to use the MSAccess 2.0 application and the
included native Btrieve drivers. With this, you could probably access
the MSAccess database via ODBC, and have the MSAccess 2.0 drivers hit
the database for you. It's ugly, and it'll be slow, but possible.

Thank you bill
Isn't it possible to find these MSAccess 2.0 drivers any where else
and use them?

Thank you for your answers

Anywhere you can find a license for MSAccess 2.0 would be helpful. Try
eBay, or even try contacting Microsoft.
