Default ODBC driver missing from ODBC Control Panel - 06-22-2006 , 02:10 PM

I installed WGE 8.6. The automatic tests that run after install worked fine.
But I cannot create a new DSN because the Pervasive drivers do not show up
in the driver list in the ODBC control panel.

There is an article on this problem at Pervasive's site, but the "solution"
they offered did not help. I have checked the registry entries and they all
look like they should. I have installed, uninstalled, and reinstalled
several times; no help. I tried disabling MS SQL Server before installing;
no help.

Anyone have a solution for this? I'm under a deadline and can't work.

Are the Pervasive ODBC drivers listed in the registry after install?
If you use the Microsoft Windows ODBC control panel manager to create
the DSN, the Microsoft ODBC driver manager gets the list from the
registry. Something would be messed up in the registry keeping it
from finding the entries.

If the Pervasive drivers are not listed in the registry that would be
another problem... during the install itself. Be sure that you are
logged in as the local machine administrator, on the machine itself
physically at the console and that any anti-virus / anti-spyware /
anti-... is stopped before the install.

A workaround would be to create the "Database" through the Pervasive
Control Center. The Pervasive entries I believe are hard coded in the
PCC.

Yes. They look fine. And the dll's are installed and registered. I can't
understand why the drivers don't show up.

Yes, "something" is blocking their display. But what??

Yes, I can create a database. But what I need is a DSN pointing to old BTR
files, with the DDF's in a different location. Can I do that with the PCC?
