Default No Such index - MS ACCESS LInked Table/ Utility to view DDF files - 10-02-2007 , 02:39 AM

Hi,

I am trying to connect to a btrieve (Pervasive SQL 8) table from an
ACCESS application, and most tables connect fine except for one which
throws an error 'ODBC - Call failed - No Such index'.
Checking on the application vendor site (tht uses the Pervasive
database as backend) I found out that the index.ddf has different
number of columns defined for that table compared to actual columns.

How can I link this table to access?
Is there any utility i can use to view the DDF files? (to be able to
see the table definitions?).

Regards,
Nabeel

Ok, found a great utility, BTSearch on the following site:
http://www.nomad.ee/btrieve/files/index.html

Now, is there any way i can still attach the table with MS Access
without modifying the indexes?
(there is one access file that has the table linked already - but i
can not link it in a new file)

If you are VERY careful, you can also use the PSQLV8 Pervasive Control
Center (PC) to modify the DDF contents to match the Btrieve file. Be
sure that you UNCHECK the "Table Linked Mode" option in the config
dialog box so that you don't modify the Btrieve structure.

Of course, having a full backup of the DDF's and data file is a good
idea, and you may even want to practice in a temporary directory first.
