Default Moving a database to a new server - 01-02-2007 , 10:15 AM

Hi!

We have an existing P.SQL data base (data files and DDFs) which we'd
like to move to a new server.

Moving the data is easy but I can't for the life of me see how, using
the PCC (V 8.7 or V9.5) how to create the database using the existing
DDF and data directories.

I can create new databases no problem.

TIA!
Guy

The easy option seems to be to create a new database and then change
the location of it's DDF and data files to point at the pre-existing
database.

Simplest solutions are always the best. Create your new database, and
provide it the existing directory name. New DDF's will NOT be created,
since ones already exist, so it simply attaches to the existing files.
