Default Maximizer Files Corrupted Address Book - 04-26-2004 , 10:52 AM

Last week I had two instances of Maximizer Databases open at the same time.
I had a lock up on my Windows ME system.
The first data base was fine but the other is now giving an error code 2,
saying there is an i/o error in the Address Book Entries file.
There are a complete set of entries but none can be seen by the program
Maximizer 5. I Can see data in the files in an editor but Maximize is having
problems opening its files.
The program is set up to run btrieve as the files are available to be read
over a network.

I did follow the restore procedure offered by Maximizer and it looks as if
it is ok but the problem persists.

Any ideas, please?

You can try rebuilding the file (see
http://www.goldstarsoftware.com/filemaint.asp for help if you need it). Pay
attention to the number of records lost and/or damaged, though.

You MAY be better off restoring the entire thing from backup.

If backup is not an option, then we can also provide recovery services. The
evaluation of the file corruption is free for most files.
