Default Generate Pervasive.SQL schema from DDF? - 09-09-2004 , 11:07 AM

I have a DDF that I can view and with which I am working in SQLScope.
Is there a way to generate SQL scripts for the "CREATE TABLE", the
"CREATE VIEW", the "CREATE PROCEDURE" and other objects in the DDF?

We have a prototype of a new utility almost ready, called DDF2XML, that
can extract the DDF definitions out to either an XML format (for
subsequent editing) or directly to the CREATE statements.

I have been looking for databases to test this against, and I will gladly
run it against your DDF's if you would like me to, providing the SQL
script output back to you. Just ZIP up the DDF's & send it to me via
Email.

Another option is the DDFUTIL package from Roberto Stern
(www.stern.com.br, if I remember correctly) which could do this, but I'm
not sure if his app is still readily available.

Hello Bill,
I sent the sample DDF to you via e-mail. I would expect that the
DDF2XML utility would become fairly popular with Pervasive.SQL
developers. As mentioned in the e-mail msg, I do not understand why
something like this is not provided by Pervasive themselves. With
MS-SQL, I enjoy right-clicking on the table, the view, the procedure,
etc., in the Object Browser of SQL Query Analyzer, then "Script Object
to New Window As" in the pop-up window and seeing the "Create", the
"Drop", the "Select" or other code appear for that object.
