Default DDF-Builder: Illegal Pattern character 'd' - 06-28-2006 , 02:35 AM

Hello,

yesterday I installed the brand new developer workgroup engine followed
by DDF Builder. PCC works as expected, but when I start DDFBuilder, I
get the above mentioned warning. Afterwards the application starts,
engine is displayed, but no databases. Clicking on "Databases" results
in displaying the above mentioned warning again.

Can anyone help me?

system:
German Windows XP SP2 with all hotfixes
Engine version 9.50.077.002
DDFBuilder 4.00

I am wondering about the "German Windows" angle. Does your computer
name or database names have any "German-specific" characters in them?
Or are all of the names containing alphabetic characters only, with no
diacritics?

I would recommend logging this issue directly with Pervasive, as it may
be a bug in their code, specifically in the handling of the character
set.

Helping myself:
meanwhile, I found that the problem seems related to the control panel
settings for locale specific information. Setting this from "German" to
"English" should circumvent the problem. Pervasive should be familiar
with the problem, as in the support-forum this problem is well known
with non english settings

Thanks
Ralph
