Databases on another Server then Engine

Pervasive Server Engine.

Is it possible to create a Database in the Engine where the data is
physically located on another server where there is no Pervasive Engine
installed ?

In theory : Yes
Stable? : Possibly (not)
Supported? : No

The same answers are most likely valid from the OS point of view too.
