Default crystall with linux - 12-04-2003 , 06:33 AM

Server : Linux
Database: Pervervasive for Linux
Reporter : Segeate Crystal Report
Clients : Window

If the filename from the databasefile is greater 8.3 it isn't possible to
use Crystal Report.
I have to make a link with the short name of the filename.
like: "ln -s longnamefilename.atb longf~m7.atb"
in this case crystal works.

Is there a better way to solve the problem.

Regards
Manfred

I would have to guess that you are running Crystal with the "native"
drivers instead of through ODBC.
This is a limitation of the native drivers and the same thing happens
with NetWare servers. Except on NetWare there is not a way to do the
linking to make it work at all.

If you switch to SQL / ODBC it should work with the long filenames.
