Default Conversione file BTRIEVE - 09-28-2005 , 03:24 AM

C'è qualcuno in grado di convertire i files btrieve senza la presenza dei
DDF?
Is there anyone that can convert btrieve files without DDF?

Convert to what? If you have WBMANAGE or other pervasive programs, like file
manager or shareware like BTFiler, you can export the data. But any dates or
numeric might be difficult to handle. Depends on what you want to do.

First of all, thanx for your answer.
I want to convert all data files into ms-access.
I have some difficult with compress numeric value after executing
BUTIL -RECOVER <source-file> <destination>
Is there any possible solution?

Btrieve files do not contain the file layout inside the files which is
why the DDF files are required. You can try BtSearch32 at
www.nssdd.com to help you analzye the structure and build the DDF
files. Once built it will also export to dbase or ascii formats.

Can't you just use butil save to an ascii file?

The problem is if your file contains binary data. Butil will not
convert the data to the proper format. So you must either write a
program to extract and convert the data or create the DDF files so that
you can use ODBC or other 3-rd party products.
