Hi all

Thanks to all for the great help in sorting out the Status 25 error...

The problem was that I wasn't aware that the work group engine doesn't not
run as a service by default.

Using Goldstar software's (www.goldstarsoftware.com) fantastic whitepapers I
was able to set up the workgroup engine to run as a service on my 2003
server.

Now the only issue is whether or not version 2000iSP4 is compatible with
Business Vision (BV).. it ships with version 2000SP2a (wont run as a
service). I tried to put in a call to BV support but they wont answer this
simple question with out us shelling out the big bucks for the "Gold"
support plan.

From what I can tell with the brief testing I have done it seems to work. I
have run some normal opps in BV and had a good look through the detailed
debugging logging and found no issues. Is there anything else I should
know. Do I need to get into multi user testing before I roll this out, or
has somebody else outthere already done this?

I am running Business Vision 5.6 on W2003 with all XP clients.

All Pervasive products are designed to be as close as "humanly
possible" to 100% backwards compatible, so unless there is a bug, or
BV programmed to a certain behavior that they shouldn't have, or put
in a version check, all older applications should work with later
versions of Pervasive.

Thanks everybody for you help...

I have upgraded and set the workgroup as an engine on W2003 server..

Been up and running for two whole days now with no problems... I will keep
my fingers crossed that this is all over.
