Default BusinessVision User Access - 01-24-2005 , 01:52 PM

We use BusinessVision 6.20. I have to give one of the users an
additional access right for picking 'Sales Analysis' off the 'Report
Suite'. Now with version 6.20 there is a problem where it doesn't SAVE
changes to user access. I talked with BusinessVision and they know
this and said that the problem will be dealt with in version 7. Anyone
know of some other way to add the right?
Thanks for any and all help!

Ron

Ron - Not sure if this will help, but I had a similar problem in version
5.80. Out of frustration, I deleted the user account and recreated it using
the same user ID. When I went in to the access section to set up the users
access, I noticed it had picked up all the original settings of the deleted
user account. I then selected the additional access rights I wanted to give
the user, and saved it. Worked great, and I found it's also the only way you
can change a users password if they forget it.

Ron - The user access is in fact an issue with BusinessVision 6.20, and
I was told also that it will be resolve in v7.0. But in the meantime,
the workaround is, if you have the previous version (6.15), quickly
downgrade one workstation to 6.15, log into your data and make the
nescessary user access change, once completed, upgrade the workstation
back to 6.20. How often do you change user access? so this workaround
is quite good until v7.

Harry, I found out that version 6.20 had that problem. Thanks for your
suggestion. I tried it and it worked. I wish that they kept the user
information in the database files. If they did, I would just play with
SQL code to make the needed alterations. I use a test company account
first to make sure that my attempts are fruitful ones before I throw
them into the real company. *chuckles* Thanks once again!
