Hi all, Is there anyone out there who knows about running Btrieve over TCP/IP on DOS workstations? We have a half dozen legacy applications that are waiting to be re-written. They currently run on DOS workstations using IPX. The workstations have MS-DOS 6.22 Novell Client 32 for DOS Btrieve BREQUEST requester Looking around the internet I various allusions to running Novell LAN workplace, TCP/IP and Btrieve not not much for Client32. I don't think that the Novell LAN Workplace software is avaiable any more. So, does anyone have any experice of using TCP/IP with Client32 and Btrieve in a DOS environment? TIA! I did get an MS-DOS application working on Windows-XP with the use of DoxBox, which is included in Pervasive7, connecting to a Windows2000 server via TCP/IP |
|
But that was more than 6 years ago..... (Althoug i think they are still running that application.....) |

We can even do it on Vista. However, the XP and Vista DOSboxes run the application programs much more slowly than the MS-DOS workstations do. The particular applicaitons we're running are long running batch programs which need the performance of a MS-DOS workstation. But that was more than 6 years ago.....
