I played around with it a few years ago but never got it to work. IIRC, the
TCP/IP drivers were geared towards NT clients and not Netware.
Do you mean NT servers?

If you are staying with Netware there's no reason not to just stick with
IPX for the DOS stations.
We want to move to OES on Linux rather than the classic Netware kernel
and OES on Linux does not support IPX/SPX.

Netware can handle both TCP/IP and IPX/SPX without problems
and I'm pretty sure the Pervasive Btrieve server can as well.
On the classic Netware kernel. Unless I'm wrong...

Yes, I believe the requestor was called BREQNT or something similar. I
can't remember the specifics but for some reason the Netware DOS client's
TCP/IP was not compatible with Netware Btrieve.

I know almost nothing about Linux but I've been wanting to look into it.
Can you use DOS clients and Btrieve on Linux? I've been thinking that
Pervasive SQL on Linux would be strictly SQL -- no transactional access. If
I'm wrong on that, maybe BREQNT will work if the Linux DOS client drivers
support TCP/IP.

From Netware 4 on I think Btrieve can handle both protocols at the same
time. I am not positive because I can't remember using both at the same
time but I know it supports both separately. On Netware it's always been
the same. There is the Btrieve NLM with supporting NLMs and running on top
of that their SQL NLMs.
