Default Btrieve and Access - 07-15-2003 , 04:56 PM

Greetings.

First and foremost, while fairly skilled with Access, I am a novice
when it comes to ODBC connectivity, VB, and Btrive. That being
admitted, I have been asked to take some Access reports that I have
developed and point them at .DAT files created by a third party app.
I understand the files and the engine running them are Pervasive's
Btrieve - v7 I believe. They are all located in a common directory.
I played around with the Btrieve tools and found that the .DAT files
are not registered as an ODBC database. Evidently, the app running
them manages them at a lower level(?).

As a beginner w/ VB in Access, would anyone be kind enought to either
a) take me under their wing and coach me through this, b) point me to
some public resources that might help, or c) share some code that I
could adopt into my Access MDE program.

All help appreciated! Clarifying questions welcomed!
